Welcome to Framed Names.co.uk - our new website offering handcrafted framed names and arty pictures for kids rooms. All of our framed names and pictures are suitable for occasions such as births, christenings, naming ceremonies, birthdays - in fact any special celebration or simply to liven up a room!

Framed Names is a family run business based in Northumberland. The idea simply started with the birth of our little girl "Kate" back in August 2005.

I wanted something unique to commemorate her birth, there were plenty of mass produced gifts available but nothing that really had that "hand made" element we were looking for. With a little persuasion my hubby (a professional media designer) and I designed our first hand crafted framed name. This still hangs proudly above our little girls bed.

I showed this prototype to my sister who thought it was fantastic. As it happened her workplace were promoting local businesses led by women. After a few nervous jitters I entered a few of our framed names into the exhibition. They went down a storm and we received our very first order within an hour of showing our designs to the general public.

Meanwhile I'd also taken the picture to a local mum's group and got a great response and so it began! Since then we've had requests from all over the UK and it's brilliant to think my pictures are happily hanging in children's rooms all over the country.

As well as the handmade framed names, we also expanded to include handmade pictures to decorate children's rooms.
